Today, I’m excited to dive deep into a topic many of you have asked about: our skincare line. It’s a journey that started not in the lab, but from the voices within our community. Yes, you! When our loyal MisMacKer’s noticed a significant improvement in their skin just from using our foundations, the demand for a dedicated skincare line grew loud and clear. And I listened.
The Genesis of Our Skincare Revolution
Our journey into skincare began with a proprietary ingredient that's close to our hearts. Derived from the fatty acids of coconut oil, this powerhouse ingredient was designed to replace silicones like Dimethicone, which, although effective, are akin to putting plastic on your skin—not what we want in a clean formula. When this ingredient hit the market during the early project stages of MisMacK, my chemist and I knew we had to have it. It's now a staple in our Foundations, Lipsticks, and GAIA Gloss. Did you know that our Foundations have only 9 ingredients and took us a year and a half to perfect? Trust me, it was well worth the wait.
Crafting the Magic
After recognizing the need for skincare that matched the quality and ethos of our makeup, I teamed up with an amazing local company in Salmon Arm to bring our ideas to life. Initially, I wasn't a fan of oils—every product I tried fell short. But with our unique ingredient, we transformed my skepticism into innovation. After six months of development, we nailed it with our Cleansing Balm and Skin Oil. Our Cleansing Balm quickly became a triple threat, acting as an eye makeup remover, a cleanser, and a nourishing night-time mask.
Expanding the Line
Encouraged by the success and continued requests from our community, we expanded our offerings. We introduced a line of suncare products, including our now award-winning Body Glow Oil, which screamed its way past competitors in Korea to win Best Clean Sun Care at the Global Clean Beauty Awards. Following that, we launched our Whipped Nourishing Moisturizer, Night Time Nourishing Moisturizer, and the newest addition, our DePuff and Prime Eye Gel.
More Than Just Skincare
The feedback has been nothing short of incredible. We've seen our Skin Oil help heal eczema, rosacea, and even cystic acne. It's clear: MisMacK is much more than makeup; it’s a game changer in skincare too. Our products are designed to be simple, effective, and multi-purpose, staying true to our core philosophy of clean beauty that performs.
